Hotel & Travel
You must make your own arrangements for travel and housing while attending the Vermiculture Conference. There are many hotels in Raleigh and Cary convenient to the conference venue. However, a limited number of discounted rooms have been secured at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites just two miles from our conference meeting space. Rooms/suites have been blocked for arrival Friday, October 25, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. and departure Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. for a deeply discounted rate of $117 for standard kings, $117 for standard double queen rooms, and $NA for suites. These rates do not include taxes of 13.25%. To book a room at this rate, reservations must be made no later than October 3, 2019. To make reservations, call 919-854-0001 and request group code VCN or group title Vermiculture Conference at NCSU. Reservations can also be made with this link (the link does not always work on mobile devices). Note: you must use their phone number or their website to get the group rate. If you use Expedia or another booking app, they can’t give you the group discount rate.
The closest airport is Raleigh-Durham International. It is 14 miles from the conference location at Hunt Library at NC State University. You are responsible for making your own airplane reservations and travel to the Vermiculture Conference and whatever hotel you choose to use.
You are responsible for your own transportation to attend the conference, including flights, travel from the airport to your hotel, and from the hotel to the conference venue. Take a moment to view ground transportation options at Raleigh-Durham Airport. Many people use Lyft or Uber, in addition to taxis.
Parking on Campus – You must obtain a visitor parking permit if you want to park a car on campus 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The 2019 Vermiculture Conference is on Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27, so you do not need to purchase a parking permit for those two days.
